Mental home: Room
For this location we wanted to clearly show that Damen was unwell. We thought that we could do this by putting him waking up in a hospital like room. This would introduce his character to the audience as knowing that there was/is something up with him, but they won't know what exactly. We found a medical room in our college which we thought would be the best place to make this scene as the room was all white and clean just like a hospital room.
Park Memory Scene:
For this location we wanted it to look like it was a romantic/ happy place as it was going to be a memory of the two character before Damen killed Lilly. This was to show that they did love each other before Damen became mentally ill. We found a little park across the road from our college which we thought would be a perfect location to create a happy memory in.Cafe Memory Scene:
For this location we wanted a little cafe, to again show that Damen and Lilly used to have fun together before he turned mentally ill. We found a cafe that was joined to our college which was a good place to film as it was quiet and was able to film everything quickly and easily. Whilst it also was the perfect atmosphere for our film.
Hall ways:
We needed some locations where Damen was chasing Lilly as he thought he kept seeing her. But he wouldn't be able to get close to her, which would make it seem more like it is in his head. We found some good corridors that had plain while walls which would make it look more like the corridors of a mental home. I think that in the second photo the lighting makes the atmosphere look quite strange, which makes it seem like something is wrong.
Corridor Memory Argument Scene:
For this location we just needed a place where Damen could remember an argument him and Lilly had, to show that their time together got more violent as time passed. We found this location and thought it would be a good place to film as the walls are close together, which I think gives off an uneasy and could make the audience feel claustrophobia. Also it could then make the audience focus on the two characters more. Also the lighting here leaves a few shadows which could make the scene seem more tense.
Mental Home: File Room
For this location we needed a room where Damen could look through a filing cabinet to find out why he was in the mental home. We found a little room in our college with a filing cabinet and a couple of desks, which was good so that we could make it look like an office.
Home: Death Scene
For this scene we needed a place where it would be believable for Damen to kill Lilly. So we thought that their house would be a suitable place as he may not have lost his temper in public or someone could have stopped him. This location was also a good place for Lilly to get murdered as it looks like an average every day house, which could make the audience feel like the same thing could happen to them.
