Tricky shots in our film

These few scenes were difficult to film because of the fact Dale (Damion) had to knock the chair over and swing his legs as though he was hanging. We didn't want the sound of the chair being knocked over to appear in the footage and so had to cut as quickly as possible.

We used a trombone shot on this scene and couldn't quite get the camera to zoom in and out fast enough to give the desired effect. We were quite happy with the outcome but wished it looked like Damion was more confused in himself, considering he was mentally ill and didn't understand what was going on.

We used colour correction on final cut express on this scene to create a pink tint which symbolised romance. However the tint was too dark which made our film look slightly mismatched. We didn't want the colour to look too red, however decided that it created an angry/romantic effect. Meaning Damion was angry that the romance was now gone.

We used fast paced editing on this clip as we overlapped it with music that sounded like a loud, fast drum beat which would create an intense feeling for the audience. It was quite difficult to time the drum beat to the movement of the words but after much practice, we finally matched it up.

This scene was quite difficult to film as we initially wanted to make Damion's figure look like a silhouette, so you couldn't see who was killing Lily, leaving anticipation and excitement for the audience at the end. However we couldn't darken the lighting enough to hide Damion's identity completely. I think if we did it again, I would use a sort of Peep Show-esque technique and film from Damion's point of view killing Lily and perhaps put this at the beginning of the film so the audience don't suspect who's done it.

The scene where Damion was kicking the floor in front of the camera was frightening to film just in case he misplaced his foot, damaging the camera. The tripod appears in the background which we didn't realise at the time.

The flicker of the title was difficult to edit together as we had music over the top and wanted the beat of the music to match the title sequence requiring a lot of concentration. But also the effect took quite a while to create.
