Radio trailers contain- Dialogue from film, sound effects from film, music from film, voice over.
Our radio trailer would contain dialogue from our film such as speech from Damion that shows he's looking for Lily and Lily's speech as he's looking for her. This gives the audience the basic story of the film without giving away what happens as it only hints.
The sound effects could include the fight noises such as punching and the groans/screams Lily makes as Damion beats her up. This shows a thrill to the audience, making them want to watch the film more.
The music from the film makes the film seem more realistic as it matches and promotes the film to the target audience as people who're slightly scared and intrigued by the trailer and music would be more likely to watch the film.
The voice over will be Damion's voice in the film as it describes his journey to find Lily and this creates a sense of reality in the film, as the audience could feel empathy for Damion's search and want to watch the film because they feel intrigued.
How does the radio trailer and poster work together to advertise the film?
The radio trailer and poster should both have the same genre in order to match. If the trailer features eeiry music like ours will due to it being a psychological thriller, the poster must have a scary theme, dark colours and a picture that relates to something that happens in the trailer. Such as Lily being beat up in a picture and the sound of it in a trailer.
My idea for the trailer would to start off with romance, dialogue that represents them being in love which then fades into the fighting and beginning to hate one another. This gives the audience a hint of what happens in the film, explaining that there's a problem in the relationship and something goes wrong. I wouldn't give away the fact he's in a mental asylum as it would be a twist when the audience actually see the film.
Radio trailers are a convenient way to hear about a new film which is why they must be catchy and to the point, tell you a main part of the film that doesn't give it all away and keep the audience listening. So at the end of the trailer there must be information about the film such as a release date etc.
