Gothika would be a good example of a movie poster that could be similar to our film as the character on the front of the cover looks shocked and as though she's trying to escape. The plot holds a fairly similar storyline to ours as the woman wakes up in a mental asylum with no knowledge of why she's there or what happened for her to be in there, it's as though her memory is stopping her from seeing what really happened. The poster gives us an idea of what the films about, it has a thrilling side to the image as the character is very pale and looks unwell/sort of mental but also the rain on the cover shows pathetic fallacy that the woman's feelings are reflecting the weather e.g. scared, gloomy, sad.
There is however a plot twist...
Wikipedia description: The story concerns a Psychiatrist Dr. Miranda Grey who works at a mental hospital and has a car accident after trying to avoid a girl on a road during a stormy night while driving back home. She rushes to try to help the girl. The girl turns out to in fact be a ghost and possesses Miranda's body by burning her after she extends her hand to the girl. Miranda loses consciousness. Miranda next wakes up in the very hospital she works for, but as a patient treated by her co-worker, Dr. Pete Graham. Drugged and confused, she remembers nothing of what happened after the car accident. To her horror, she learns that her husband Douglas was brutally murdered and that she is the primary suspect.
Another poster that could be good to take aspects from for our film would be Premonition as it's a psychological film and the poster reflects a confusion as the trees blend with a face, showing the character is confused. This could be similar to ours as the artistic side of it would make it more interesting and watchable.
