
I think our film can take cues from the lighting in The Sixth Sense. While it isn't as dark as Shutter Island's lighting, the gloomy, drab colours in this image quite clearly show the intended meaning of the shot, it emanates fear, darkness and mystery.
Another feature of this film which I think could provide influence on our film is the music. Like Shutter Island's score, it is classical, with a slow tempo which really gives out a eery, creepy vibe, which is what we will be looking for when choosing the music for our film, the non diagetic sound is very important in thriller films because of the intended audience pleasure, the music provides the added edge the images on screen need in order to achieve the 'thrill' factor.
