Title Sequences Research

Title sequences take place at the beginning of films. They are shown to give information on the directors and actors etc and to introduce the audience to the film. Some films include their title sequences in montages of clips that are seen in the actual film, whereas some films contain title sequences which use completely different images from the film, an example would the title sequences used in James Bond films. Here is an example from Goldeneye.

Most commonly however, the title sequences of films contain montages of clips from the film, or are separate shots that include the characters of the film in locations synonymous with the storyline. an example of this type of title credits can be seen in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs.
