Faking a death scene

As our initial idea was to use a knife to kill Damion with, therefore I researched into how to fake stab someone/make the knife look realistic. I found this tutorial in order to create a knife that would be attached to the person, making the weapon and self inflicted wound look real. As Hayley's friend was studying makeup at the time, our plan was to involve her in the film and make the wound look realistic.

However our idea developed and we decided that Damion would commit suicide by hanging himself rather than using a knife. Our prop was going to be a rope but as he was supposedly in a mental asylum, we used a blanket which we folded to act as a rope.

How to fake hang yourself for filming

I found that if we used a harness our film would look exceptionally real however due to the cost we weren't able to do this. So instead we thought we could use a chair, tie the blanket to a higher surface area and to Dale (Damion) but then cut when he falls, so that it looks like he has actually fallen. Then use the trick of moving his feet, to look as though he's dangling, they could slowly still to show that he's dead. This would all look very realistic especially with suspense music on top of the clip
