Genres - Horror - Short Films

Genres - Horror - Short Films

In this short film I like the sound effects in the part where the victims were being beat up, I thought they were effective as they could make the audience feel sorry for the victims & wonder who would want to do this to them and why. The idea of masks I also liked as it adds mystery to who is behind the mask, and why they don't want to be seen. One of the films locations is in an empty woods, which makes it more creepy as there might not be anyone around to help. This film has a lot of the generic conventions that a horror film would include such as masks to cover up faces, weapons & derelict areas which is what helps to makes the film more tense.

The villains all have masks covering their faces. This makes is more creepy as no one knows who is behind the masks. It also makes the relationship less personal between the villains and the audience as they won't feel sympathy for the villains if anything happens to them.

Here it shows some typical conventions of horror, people falling over in a chase scene. This builds up the suspense as the audience want the victims to get away but the villain is then getting closer and has more chance of catching them if they have fallen over.
