The film starts off with a man (A) looking at a photo of a woman (B), it's obvious from the outset that the woman has emotional significance the man. There are small flashbacks of A and B together, talking and embracing. A then says he will find her and she isn't forgotten.The film then switches to a vision of the woman speaking to the man saying all is not lost and that she isn't far away.
A then sets off in search of B, following shadowy figures of the woman with her back turned to him, and the visions that keep coming to him. While on his search for her, a person in a lab coat (C) keeps popping up in the scenes, walking in the background or walking past A.
As the search intensifies, he finally catches B, but she is accompanied by the person in the lab coat that was popping up near him while he was searching for her. B states that this is who she belongs with, and the camera pans to a sign stating that they are stood outside of a mental institute. A is devastated, and breaks down, then there is a cut to A dead, with blood dripping from his wrists onto the photo of B.
C enters the room with another person in a lab coat (D) and finds A dead and they are holding a case file, indicating that he was in fact a patient at the hospital and couldn't deal with the fact that his wife was murdered, and made a facade that she was missing and he was trying to find her.
The film then ends with a scene of A and B hugging, signifying that they have re-united in the afterlife.
