SHUTTER ISLAND
A film that is similar to our five minute film is Shutter Island.

In shutter Island the main character on a journey to find out what happened to a missing patient. Teddy in the end finds out that his three children are dead and he thinks it was his wife that did it. Then he shots his wife and she dies.OUR FILM
This is kind of like the story in our film as the husband is going on a quest to find his wife. However his wife is already dead. In the end when the husband see the ghost of his dead wife embracing with another he cant deal with it and takes his own life so that he can be with her.
I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN
Even though this film is not the same as the film we want to make its main character has a mental illness and is finding it hard to fit in. In our film we wish to show that the characters illness is progressing until the final point when it gets so bad and he takes his own life to get away from his fears.
ICONOGRAPHY'S
Iconography's are objects or icons that you are likely going to find in most films with certain genres. In this case thrillers sometimes use objects and icons such as: blood, guns, knifes and bibles. This is what the audience unconsciously expect to see in a thriller.
PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER

An examples of a psychological thriller is the film Black Swan. There are other films that are similar to the idea of our film for example Memento and Se7en.
I think that our film might be a psychological thriller because, it will have some violent scenes which result in death and insanity.
Black Swan is like the idea of our film as the main character in Black Swan seems to have an illness that makes her think she's a swan and causes her to see things that are not really there. Our films main character has an illness that means that he is in a mental institute.
Lighting, setting and sound
The lighting in our film The forgotten Truth is important but, rather than having shots that are overexposed or underexposed or even just to create shadows, like in this clip from The Lion King. In this clip the flashback is show through the overexposure of light along with a fade in/out. It also, displays sections of the clip by a shadow that is in the cloud. We as a group have decided to make all the memory scenes in our film black and white. This will make them seem more like a distant memory or even a figure of Damians imagination (like the cloud section in The Lion King).
The flashbacks in the Scooby doo clip are all presented to the audience by a sweep video translation. The sweeps go left to right when going into the flashback and right to left to bring the audience back to the present time.
The flashbacks in memento were the closest thing I could find to what we as a group are trying to achieve. These flashbacks are not black and white but in this clip the flashback is very light and the present reality is quite dark. This makes the audience believe that there has been a gap in time and that what they are seeing has a possibility of never happening or ever happened.
