Psychological Thriller - Music/ Audio

Psychological Thriller - Music/ Audio

The typical music for drama films is usually having start off with happy music and then as soon at the drama starts the music will go turn tense as the scenes speed up and will go in to some upbeat suspending music.

Here in the film Shutter Island the music is very eerie and mysterious. It is quite calm but when dramatic scenes are show the audio become upbeat and things such as lightning strike sounds to create the sense that something bad is going to happen.

Here in the trailer of the film Memento the sound effects are loud and shocking. For example there are gun shots and crashing sounds that make it sound more tense and makes the scene more thrilling.

Slow suspending music can be used before the drama is about to happen or sounds such as breathing loudly or oddly, make a scene for tense and will make the audience feel more on edge.

Here is the trailer for the film Hard Candy. The non-diegetic sound here when the male character appears on screen is very suspending and sounds suspicious and shows the audience that something is wrong about that character.
