Faking a fight scene

I researched how to make a death look real in a film in order to make ours look realistic by firstly finding a clip of someone beating a person up for filming purposes (no actual violence):

I found that the speed and power of the actors strike must be efficient, meaning they have to work together to make the hits look real eg. male actor goes to punch and the camera could jerk simultaneously with the strike. Then we could apply makeup to look like bruising. A lot of editing could be done to make the fight scenes look realistic as they wouldn't have to risk hitting the other actor accidentally, if we cut just before their hand hit the skin.

Harsh camera movement is key- if we move the camera quickly, the fight will look realistic to the audience, unnerving them to the violence.

Cut shots on strike- very effective as the hit will land straight after the cut, tricking the audience into thinking it's real. It's a basic visual guideline.
