A lot of music in psychological thrillers is played by an orchestra. The classical feel to the music in Shutter Island helps to bring out the emotional scenes we he sees his wife and helps to connect with the audience when the scenes are frightening and fast.
This music is very slow and miserable sounding and makes me as the audience want to cry. This is only how the music makes me feel but, I am show that it will bring out this sort of emotion in others. We as a good could compose a piece of music that has this sad feeling to it to help emphasis how much Damian loves and misses his wife. Also it could be used to show the dramatic twist of events when the audiences find out that Damian killed his wife.



This music from Shutter Island would be a good place to look for some music of similar sounds to use in our psychological film. Most psychotic people are played by doctors calming music to relax and change their moods. It would be a good way to represent our characters on our film. For example when Damian and Lily are both happy in a memory then the music could be clam with a happy upbeat flow but, then when Damian become aggressive and dangerous towards Lily the music could become more rapid, intense and dark sounding to show Damians personality change.
