Voiceover examples
I really like this example of a voiceover as it fits really well with what is happening on screen. This is the same sort of idea I would like to do for our film as, it needs a voiceover to inform the audience about the story of what is actually happening. For example in this short film the footage is a journey but, the voiceover examples to the audience about the fact that its not the journey itself that is important but, more about the person the journey was shared with.
In our film The Forgotten Truth the footage shows the progression of violence towards the female in a relationship. At the end of the short film the audience finds out that the female is actually dead as she was killed by being in this violent relationship but, the twist at the end tells the audience that the male couldn't live with the guilt of killing his girlfriend. I want our voiceover to fill in the details that the audience might not pick up on.
The voice over on this clip Gone Goodbye is more of a monolog. This means that rather than it informing the audience about what is actually happening, it is just explaining how the character is feeling. I love how this voice over goes with just one piece of music that plays all the way through the film. This makes everything feel more infinitive and never changing. There are a few sound effects put into this clip to break up the talking and music but it makes you as the audience wonder what is going to happen next or even what happen to Katherine in the first place.
In our voice over for The Forgotten Truth I might use a bit of both of these examples. For example, The monolog part would be good to tell the audience how lost and confused Damian is feeling but, also using traits from Flashback would mean that the audience would be able to understand more about the story as to why it happened.
