Here we wanted to show the audience that it was a romantic, happy scene so we thought that a pink filter would make it seem more romantic. We did this by putting a colour correction filter over the top of the shot and they gradually changed to levels of the colours the get the exact shade that we wanted.
In these shots we wanted to increase the rhythm of the scene so that the news that Damian found out would appear as more shocking. We did this by taking shots of the filing cabinet at several different angles and then edited them together at a fast pace. We then got the sounds from the draw slamming and edited them inbetween each other so make it sound more intense and shocking. We also thought that it would make Damian seem like an angrier, more out of control character. Which would make him look more intimidating to the audience.
We got close up shots of the file that Damian found explaining why he was in the mental institute. We did this to also show the audience why he was in their and what he had done to Lily. This was difficult to edit together as we had to make sure the audience had enough time to read it, but also it had to have a quick rhythm to it to make it look more shocking. We found a sound track that sounded like some drums which we though went well with these shots as the atmosphere suddenly changed and hopefully the audience will have a moment of realisation of what Damian has done.
In this scene we had to edit together the shots of Damian beating up Lily. This was hard to do as we had to make sure that every punch/ kick matched in the next shot. We sped up some of the punching shots when Damian was hitting Lily's face to make it look more realistic and brutal. For the sound effects of this we found the sounds online. We cut them all up and added them into the shots for every punch. This was difficult as we had to get the sound effects to precisely to match up the punching and kicking. For the final cut of our film we are going to record our own sound effect as we don't think that the ones we found sound realistic enough. We also wanted to show different parts of this scene in two different places of the film, one where you weren't able to see Damian's face as he was a silhouette, and then in the second one the audience would find out that it was him beating up his wife. But when we tried to edit it that way the film didn't make as much sense in our opinion, so we decided to cut the first scene out.
For the title of our film we wanted it to flicker to created a more tense feeling. This was hard to do as we wanted to different flickers to be uneven. So we had to create a lot of separate titles and adjust them to how long we wanted them to show for. This then caused problems when we wanted to edit the font of alter of of the titles, we would have to redo the whole section.
