Tricky shots / reshots

Tricky shots
This over the shoulder shot of the main character Damian looking down at the photograph was particularly hard to do. At first we couldn't work out how we were going to get an over the shoulder shot as Damian was sitting on the bed as, we couldn't get the tripod in the right place to be able to film it.  Eventually, we decided that we had to stand on the bed that Damian was sitting on and do a freehand shot which is why the shot is a little wobbly.

This selection of shots was tricky to do as we had to make it look as real as possible as it is the most important scene in our entire film. We found it hard to get the shots right as we knew that we needed a variety of different shots ranging from close ups to medium shots of Lily. We also tried to make Damian look like a silhouette as we were planning on showing the audience a clip from this scene so they didn't know who it was that killed Lily but, when trying to do this the film wasn't making sense so we changed it but kept the silhouette shots as we believed it showed the too anger and distance Damian had encountered with the love of his life and to connote the fact that he had lost himself.

The hanging screen had to be precise and yet was very complex to perform as we couldn't actually hang the actor. What we had to do was do a section of close ups that should what he was doing and then a low angle shot of Damian with the noose around his neck. For this shot one of the member of the group had to hold up the sheet to make it look like it was actually attacked to the rail. We then made sure that in all other shots that they were close ups of parts of the body like the feet and hands to give an illusion that the actor had been hung.

Reshoots

This two shot from the park scene was a reshoot/ extra shot that we added into our film as before it was placed in there wasn't many close up shots in this scene and we thought that there wasn't enough variation in shots to actually introduce the characters to the audience.

This was a reshoot as the first shot was not close enough for the purpose we needed it for. Originally we wanted this picture to go into the park memory scene but we decided against that Idea as we didn't want the park scene right after this picture.

As many people can tell this shot was added into the film after all the other parts had been filmed. Both members of the group that acted in these two shots hair has changed due to the time gap between filming. These two shots were needed to add more to the story and to show that Damian had been sent back to his room where he would then take his own life. Without this shot Damian would have randomly appeared back where he started and we didn't want this so we have had to settle with the movie mistake.

Another shot that we found tricky to perform was a focus pull. We as a group tried to perform a focus pull from the back of the photograph of Damian and Lily to Damians face in on of the first scenes. This was tricky to do as we had to manually use the focus on the camera to change it from being clear on the photo and blurred on his face to blurred on the photo and clear on his face.
