Audio effects
The sound effects that we used on the rough cut of The Forgotten Truth gave the scene in the film where Damian kills Lily a slapstick feel. As our film is not a comedy we had to change the sound effects and we did this by making our own punching effects.

We made the effects by taking a camera into a small room and using ourselves to create the sounds ( involved hitting ourselves and a chair). We then imported them onto final cut and removed the footage and audio we didn't want. We then used the audio as the sound effects. We have had to put on a low pass filter to make the slaps sound more like thuds from a punch.
I am please with the results as we have left on of the slaps quite loud so that it makes the audience feel the pain that Lily felt when Damian was beating her up. The close up slap/ punch across Lilys face is the most affective sound effect.
