Re-Shoots

When shooting our film, some of the shots didn't turn out as we had liked them to so we had to do a number of re-shoots.

Our first re-shoot was of the shot where Damian takes the photograph from the wall. The original shot was not close enough to the photograph and the picture was not seen clearly enough. We needed this shot to look like the photograph was intimate so we re did the shot closer to the photograph.

Our next re-shoot was to add some extra close ups in the park scene. We felt like we needed to do this to break up the scene and add variety, we also wanted to let the audience get a proper look at the characters, their facial expressions were needed to be seen clearly in order to properly translate the message that Damian and Lily were in a romantic relationship.

our last re-shoot was the two shots where Damian is sent back to his room. We felt that we needed a shot to transition between Lily fading away and Damian appearing back in his room, the original sequence was too big of a jump and didn't fit in with the elliptical timeline of the film.

These re-shoots were somewhat controversial. Because a few were shot at a later time than the other shots, the character's hair had changed which had a negative impact on continuity, however, I think the positives outweigh the negatives because without these re-shoots the film would have looked worse.
